Canton takes down Sayre, 60-12.

The Canton Warriors defeated Sayre, 60-12, in NTL wrestling action on Thursday evening.

Canton received forfeits at 106, 126, 138, 160, 182, 195 and 220 pounds.

Sayre received a forfeit at 132 pounds.

There were double forfeits at 113 and 120 pounds.

At 285 pounds, where the match started, Canton's Jaden Hulslander pinned Sayre's Dominic Red at :59.

In the 145 pound bout, Canton's Mak Gleckner pinned Thomas Hendricks at 2:59.

Sayre's Zain Patnode pinned Connor Hess at 1:09 in the 152 pound bout.

Canton's Chance Deljanovan pinned Connor Harbst at 1:06 in the 170 pound match.

"The team has suffered numerous injuries in the last two weeks, there is a time frame for return for all of the guys, so we have to move forward with what we have for the time being. It's not the way we wanted to begin this year, but the wrestlers that competed tonight showed up, including the Jr. high, in a fashion we expect, so we can move forward and improve along the way," Sayre coach Mark Twigg said after the match.


North Penn-Liberty 42, NEB 27

The North Penn-Liberty wrestling team defeated Northeast Bradford, 42-27, at NPL on Wednesday evening.

NPL received forfeits at 160, 182, 106, 113, and 126 pounds.

NEB received one forfeit at 220.

NEB's Tyler Devonshire won the first match of the night at 170 pounds over Cameron Andrews, 7-5. At 195 pounds, NEB's Noah Forbes defeated Roch Minnich, 9-8.

At 285 pounds, NEB's Owen Maryott toppled Justin Kriner, 2-1 on tiebreaker.

In the 120 pound bout, NPL's Patriot June defeated Kregory Johnson, 9-8.

NEB earned two pins at 132 and 138 pounds. At 132, Destin Moore pinned Bryan Bogaczyk at 5:11, and Dusty Cook pinned Austin Smith at 5:32 in the 138 pound match.

NPL's Riley Walker pinned Dale Brown in the 145 pound match at 1:45 and at 152, NPL's Casey Amaral defeated NEB's Aaron Boss, 6-5 on tiebreaker.
