Wellsboro baseball tops Sayre.

SAYRE — The Hornets handed Sayre their first loss of the season in NTL cross-over baseball action Tuesday.

Wellsboro held on to beat the Redskins 4-2.

Caleb Tennis (2-for-4), Billy Lechler (2-for-3) and Dalton Prough (2-for-4) all had multi-hit games for the Hornets.

Caleb Tennis had a double and an RBI while Prough and Lechler both scored.

Johnny Rowland, Carson Davis, Cam Tennis and Taynton Repard also had hits. Cam Tennis and Repard both scored while Davis and Caleb Tennis each had an RBI.

Rowland got the win, going all seven innings to striking out five while allowing eight hits, one walk and two earned run.

Quinn Hanafin (2-for-4) and Zach Moore (2-for-2) had multi-hit games for the Redskins. Quinn Hanafin's hits were doubles while Moore scored a run.

Sam Wheeler had a double while Nate Sweet, Jordan Rockwell and James Esposito also had hits.

Connor Hanafin had an RBI with Sweet scoring a run.

Sayre went through three pitchers as Sweet started and went 4 1/3-innings for the loss. He struck out four while allowing eight hits, four walks and four runs, three of them earned.

Connor Hanafin went the next two innings, striking out two while allowing two hits and two walks.

Quinn Hanafin went the final two-thirds with one walk and a strikeout.

Troy 15, Williamson 1, 5 innings

Mason Bellows threw a 2-hitter as the Trojans used a 9-run fifth inning to pull out the NTL win Tuesday.

They scored one in the first, two in the third and three in the fourth while the Warriors got their run in the second.

Tyler Williamson went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored to lead the Trojans while Nate Martin (2-for-3), Michael Borden (2-for-4), Nick Colton (2-for-4) and Nick Call (2-for-2) also had multi-hit games.

Martin had a triple, three runs and an RBI, Borden and Colton both scored twice and knocked in a run while Call also had a triple, crossed home and had 3-RBI.

Clark Jackson had a hit with two runs and Brandon Zechman had a hit with a run scored and 3-RBI.

Bailey Cohick, Hayden Dewey and Ja Wallace each scored a run.

Bellows struck out five and walked three while allowing one earned run to get the win.

Brock Sackett and Tyler Corwin had the two Williamson hits while Jesse Stewart scored their run as Sackett knocked him in.

Brock Robinson started but didn't record an out for the loss. He allowed one hit, three walks and one earned run.

Sackett came on and worked 4 1/3-innings. He struck out five while allowing eight hits and eight runs, five of them earned.

Ethan Shaefer went the final two-thirds, striking out one while allowing two walks, four hits and six earned runs.

Towanda 12, Blue Ridge 1, 5 innings

The Black Knights got back to their winning ways with a non-league baseball victory Tuesday.

"It was good to get a win," said Towanda coach Bill Sexton. "I thought the kids came out and hit the ball well in the first inning, established the tone of the game."

Towanda had five runs in the first inning, one in the second and six in the fifth.

Brayden Manchester went 3 2/3-innings for the win to improve to 2-1. He struck out six while allowing two hits and one unearned run.

Devin Dunn went 1 1/3-innings in relief, striking out two with two walks.

"I thought Brayden threw really well today, gave up only the two hits, and six strikeouts and no walks and got it all done with only 47 pitches too," Sexton remarked. "I thought Dunn did a pretty good job also when he came back in. All in all a good trip, hopefully we can get something going now."

Preston Rogers (2-for-3), Ryan Bartholomew (2-for-3), Luke Tama (2-for-4) and Dunn (2-for-4) all had multi-hit games.

Rogers knocked in four runs and scored one, Bartholomew had 2-RBI, Tama scored three times and had an RBI while Dunn had a double with 2-RBI.

Manchester, Lars Thomason, Dawsan Manning and Brett Crispell each had a hit. Manchester added 2-RBI and a run scored, Thomason scored twice, Manning scored once and Crispell also had an RBI.

Tanner Kunkle scored twice while Mason Johnson and Ethan Sparrow both scored.

Towanda will travel to NEB today.

Cowanesque Valley 11, Port Allegany 3

Seth Huyler went 4-for-4 with a home run to lead the Indians to a non-league baseball win Tuesday.

Huyler also had a double, four runs scored and 2-RBI.

CV struck early, scoring three runs in the first, then added two more in the third, four in the fourth and two in the sixth.

Christian Kemp was 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI while Owen Fitzwater went 2-for-3 with a double and 2-RBI.

Matt Barber and Kayden Houghtaling also had hits. Nevin Stiles, Dustin VanZile and Houghtaling each had an RBI as well.

Tioga 13, SVE 2

The Tigers scored nine runs in the third inning of the win.

Mason Booser had a 5-for-5 day with a double, two RBI and three runs scored and Pierce Hendershot had a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.

Thomas Cook had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Connor Hutchinson had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.

Justin Rockwell had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Trenton Perrotta had a hit.

Derrick Barto had a hit, a run scored and an RBI and Derrick Gage had two hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored.

Brady Worthing had a double, a run scored and two RBI and Max Johnson had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.

Barto started on the mound, striking out 10 in five innings to get the win, allowing three hits. Worthing pitched one no-hit inning in relief.
