NP-Liberty wins Troy TournamentTROY — North Penn Liberty won the gold bracket final over Troy at the Troy Tournament in three games (25-20, 26-28, 15-8) on Saturday. NPL defeated Elmira in the semi-finals in two games and Troy topped Canton in two games (25-16, 25-18). In the silver bracket, Williamson defeated Athens in the final. Williamson won over Northeast Bradford in two games (25-22, 25-21) and Athens defeated Candor in three games in the silver bracket semi-finals.

In pool play, Troy defeated Athens 2-0 (25-14, 25-23), NEB 2-0 (25-11, 25-21), and Elmira 2-0 (25-21, 25-18).

For the tournament, Troy's Caitlin Delosa finished with 30 points,13 aces, five kills and 10 digs. Cassie Shedden had 21 points, three aces, two kills, 41 set assists and 16 digs. Emilie Cole tallied 16 points, five aces, 12 kills, three blocks and 12 digs. Samantha Gentile collected 13 points, five aces, 25 kills, eight blocks and seven digs. Morgan Gentile accumulated 12 points, six aces, 27 aces, five blocks and six digs. Kerrigan Hoffmann accrued 12 points, two aces, six kills and 11 kills. Hailey Williams totaled 20 digs, Lydia Eckert amassed 11 digs, Stacie Simpson put together one point and two kills, Breana Millard compiled two points two kills and two digs and Dawn Zimmerman corralled 2 kills.

In pool play, North Penn Liberty defeated Canton 2-0 (25-12, 25-23), Williamson 2-0 (25-15, 25-17), and Candor 2-0 (25-13, 25-5).

For the tournament, NPL's Lauren Smith finished with six aces, 18 points, 29 kills, and 19 digs. Kaya Weeks had 18 aces, 25 points, and 37 digs. Maddison Minyo tallied two aces, 10 points, 23 kills, one block and one dig. Brooke Harvey collected 12 points, 18 kills, and 22 digs. JoAnne McNamara accumulated three aces, eight points, three kills and 59 assists. Savannah Doney accrued three aces, three kills, two blocks, and 17 digs. Ellianna Fry totaled 13 kills, two blocks and five digs. Mariah Kshir amassed one ace, three points, nine assists and five digs. Haley Monks compiled six kills and one block and McKenna Grega corralled two points and 11 digs.

In pool play, NEB lost to Elmira 0-2 (19-25), Troy 0-2 (11-25, 21-25), Athens 0-2 (15-25, 18-25), and in the silver bracket semi-finals NEB lost to Williamson 0-2 (22-25, 21-25).

For the tournament, NEB's McKenzie Haight finished with 27 points, five aces, nine digs, four kills and one assist. Marrissa Brink had 14 points, 12 assists, three aces, four digs and one kill. Lucy Parks tallied five points, one ace, six blocks, ten digs, four kills and one assist. McKenna Hurley collected six points, four digs, three aces and six kills. McKenna Wheaton accumulated five points, nine digs, four aces, one dig and one assist. Lindsay Moore accrued eight points, seven kills, nine digs, three aces, two assists and one block. Jordan Shumway totaled two points, 15 digs, one ace and one assist. Maddy Bolinger amassed three digs, Katie Stewart collected two kills and one block and Kyley Zook had one dig.

In pool play, Canton split with Williamson 1-1 (22-25, 25-19), lost to NPL 0-2 (12-25, 23-25), defeated Candor 2-0 (25-20, 25-23), and in the gold bracket semi-finals lost to Troy 0-2 (16-25, 18-25).

For the tournament, Canton's Joselyn Spencer finished with 25 points, six aces and 20 digs. Emalie Marnati had 19 points, four aces, 21 digs and seven kills. Caitlin Pepper tallied 18 points, six aces and 27 assists. MacKayla Wesneski totaled 11 points, three aces, eight kills and five blocks. Hailey Wesneski collected 19 digs and 11 kills, Abi Martin accumulated 15 digs and 14 kills, Vanessa Wesneski accrued ten kills and Taylor Kinner compiled nine kills.

Sayre defeated SVE in three sets in local volleyball action on Saturday.

Dominique Woodruff finished with 13 digs and eight points, Annaleise Vanderpool had one dig and one point and Claire Shaffer tallied two digs for Sayre. Andrea Noldy compiled two kills, 17 points and 18 assists, Emmalee Cooley put together three kills, three points and one dig and Maddison Harding amassed four kills, one block, one assist and four points. Molly Ball collected 17 kills, one block, four digs and seven points, Camryn Brown accumulated six kills, one block, one dig and four points and Madeleine Dutra totaled five kills, one assist, two digs and one point. Miranda Tappan corralled two kills and three digs and Andrea Desisti garnered one dig.
